Reprogramação Muscular Profunda (RMP) stands
for Deep-Muscle Reprogramming. It is a conscious training technique
that, in turn, proposes movement patterns in specific postures
directed by breathing reeducation. It is also a proprioceptive
neuromuscular reprogramming that induces the patient to learn
from the correction of inadequate movements and from the perception
of correct posture, in static and dynamic modes.
We adopt afferent and efferent means of learning, i.e., stimuli
from the outskirts to the brain and vice versa aiming at the
alteration of already existing patterns by activity repetition
thru exercises, following to the established concepts of cerebral
plasticity.
The exercises include the following work tools: respiratory
reeducation; joint mobility; muscle strengthening, muscle stretching,
motion coordination and correction of inadequate posture patterns
and of the already incorporated movements.
We use balls of several sizes, made of different materials;
ribbon like elastic rubber bands of different resistance, positioning
rolls, and sticks among other materials. The exercises are carried
out progressivelly adapted to the capacity of the individual
to perform the specific tasks the method proposes.
The postures are done with the individual lying down, seated
or on feet, usually in a closed kinetic sequence, with a progression
of difficulty of exercises, from basic to advanced.
Strengthening of the tiny deep muscles of the backbone, as
well as their adequate stretching are enforced at all moments
of the exercises.
Mobility and strengthening of the scapular and pelvic waists
are coordinated together with the respiration and contraction
of the abdominal muscles.
The exercises are done in a slow and synchronous mode with
constant modulation of the tonus during the complete evolution
of the movements that, in their turn evolve from dynamic to
static.
This work methodology is used on patients presenting skeleton-muscular
and neurological dysfunctions like disc herniation and associated
neurological sequels, tendinitis, scoliosis, sport related injuries,
conservative treatment of patella condromalatia caused by the
mechanical unbalance of this structure, injuries of the crossed
ligaments of the knee, post surgery complementary treatment
in case of total prosthesis of the pelvic bone, rehabilitation
after fracture immobilizing, Parkinson’s disease, among
others.
It is also used on people with signs of deep muscular pain,
associated to contracture, postural deviations, consequence
of biomechanical unbalance of the anteroposterior and lateral
muscular chains caused by the repetitive activities of the daily
work life.
